Candle Making Waxes

First batch? Start with This Wax

We want just enough wax to make around 20 candles for our first batches and experiment with the melting process and the scent combination with essential oils.

We suggest getting a 2lb (1kg) natural and organic soy wax flake pack that is ideal for making container candles, and it results in a bright and clean burn.

Whenever you decide to buy natural and organic soy wax, make sure that it is sourced locally, don’t go for corporate products. We found many independent wax producers on Amazon that you can check out by clicking the button below.

More Expert? Bulk Wax to Reduce Costs

After experimenting with wax and essential oils, it’s time to make the side hustle work, and it’s time to reduce the costs of sourcing materials while keeping great quality. To achieve this cost reduction, it’s important to start buying wax in bulk.

The most common bulk sizes are 5-10 lbs (2-5kg) and are perfect if you don’t have much storage space. However, to cut down the costs, you could buy larger quantities such as 25-45 lbs (10-20kg). Most of the independent wax producers on Amazon let you pick bulk amounts. Check them out by clicking the button below.

Experimental? Try Something Different!

Why don’t you try something different? Soy wax is perfect to make containers candles but Beeswax might become a natural alternative if you want to experiment with more complex candles such as pillars or taper candles.

If you want to experiment, we suggest going for smaller quantities, trying out your craft, and gaining confidence. The beauty of beeswax is its durability, natural scent, and solid yellow, deep colour the candle has.
